I have been playing music for most of my life, and using a metronome has been a very useful tool.
My goal with this project was to remove distractions (like ads + unnecessary features) to create a lightweight, accurate, and user-focused metronome.
I am continuously working on updates and will welcome feedback and suggestions!

  • Tempo Change

If you would rather that the tempo changed more quickly when making adjustments at slow BPMs, update this setting. If using the tempo knob, the tempo will be updated after releasing it.

Tempo

The Tempo can be changed in four different ways...
  • 1 - Rotary dial

    • Turn the dial clockwise to increase the tempo, and anti-clockwise to decrease.
    • If you wish for the tempo to update faster when increasing from lower tempos, choose 'Immediate upon release' in the tempo dropdown of the settings menu.
  • 2 - Tap tempo

    • Tap the circle within the dial at the tempo you wish to set.
    • The tempo will set after the second tap.
    • The longer you tap for, the more accurate the resulting set BPM will be.
  • 3 - Keyboard input

    • By tapping the displayed tempo (below the play/stop button), you may use your device's keyboard to set a new tempo.
    • The Metronome's limits of 30 to 400 BPM still apply.
  • 4 - Marking selector

    • Upon tapping the displayed tempo marking (below the displayed tempo). You will be shown a list of tempo markings.
    • Tapping a new marking will set the tempo to the lower bound of the marking.

Time Signature

Scroll through the wheel or tap a number to set the time signature.

Note:

You are able to change both numerals. However, in the app's current build, the lower numeral only affects the label displaying the note value (shown below the tempo marking).

I plan to add functionality to specify subdivisions at a later date. This will enable triplet and syncopated rhythm functionality whilst remaining at the same tempo.

Beat Accents

Change beat accents individually, or as a whole by using presets.

Individually

  • Swipe up on a 'beat' to increase the accent value. Swipe down to decrease.
  • There are four different accent levels.
    • Downbeat
    • Regular beat
    • Quiet
    • Silent

Using Presets

  • Double tap any of the beats to show the beat accent preset menu.
  • Choose from the list of premade options, or make your own.
  • All presets are renamable and reorderable.

Note:

To make your own preset, first configure your accents the way you would like, then head into the menu and press the "+" button.
